Profile: I am passionate about the art of dance education. As a teacher, I believe that dance provides children with many valuable life skills and can have a positive impact on a youths’ growth and development. I also believe in developing and sustaining healthy dance practices and working towards reducing injuries and educating dancers about their bodies.
Experience
Dance Competition/Festival Adjudicator: Various Organizations: 2008-Present Providing age and developmentally appropriate feedback in a positive manner to young developing dancers. Organizations have included: Catch a Rising Star, Champions Dance Competition, Chilliwack Music Festival, Glam Dance, Drumheller Music Festival, Parkland Festival, Summit Dance Challenge, Synergy Dance, and Wild Rose Dance Arts Scholarship Program.
Competitive Dance Program Director: Rhythmic Soles Dance Academy: 2009-2019 Teaching an average of 25-30 classes per week in Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Modern, Lyrical and Acro as well as choreographing competitive numbers. Included preparing students for ADAPT Jazz & Tap Exams from Junior 1- Intermediate 3 Level (Female & Male Variations). Directed two full length productions of “Nutcracker…All Jazzed up” which included ballet, jazz, tap, modern and theatre dance styles.

Taught weekly class, choreographed and prepared dancers for ADAPT exams as required for studios including: School of Alberta Ballet, Dance on Edge, McDonald Wilson Dance Academy, and U of C (Mini U).

Performed in multiple Dance Montage and Dance MainStage shows at the University of Calgary. Performed in the “Jack Petchey Theatre Challenge” at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London and “Me and My Girl” at the famous London Palladium Theatre. Received many awards as a competitive dancer including “Most Outstanding” at the 2003 Calgary Triple Threat Dance Convention. Represented her region at BC Performing Arts Provincial Festival three times (twice for Stage, once for Modern).
